Peabody Charter School
Enrollment Procedures as of 11-29-2018
Pupils will be considered for admissions without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, fluency in English, or parent income/educational level. No test or assessment shall be administered to students prior to acceptance and enrollment into the school. No tuition will be charged. As required by law, preference for enrollment in Peabody Charter School will be given to those who live within the attendance area of the School. Further, admission to Peabody Charter School will require a commitment to the goals, objectives, and the vision of the school as set forth in the charter. The pre-enrollment process is comprised of the following:
Enrollment at Peabody Charter School is accomplished through a random selection process (lottery) based on space availability. On-line pre-enrollment will be accepted during an open enrollment period for enrollment in the following school year. Following the open enrollment period each year, the School will hold a public random drawing to determine enrollment for each grade level, with the exception of existing students who are guaranteed enrollment in the following school year. Enrollment priority in the case of a public random drawing shall be allowed in the following priority order:
At the conclusion of the random drawing, all students who were not granted admission due to capacity shall be given the option to put their name on a wait list according to their draw in the lottery. This wait list will allow students the option of enrollment in the case of an opening during the school year.
